After establishing the potential significance of the year 2030 A.D. through three separate prophetic timelines, we now find yet another possible timeline in the Book of Hosea. The first three involved: 1) Jesus as the Last Adam, 2) the discipline of the Northern Kingdom of Israel in Ezekiel Chapter 4, and 3) the discipline of the Southern Kingdom of Judah in Ezekiel Chapter 4. Together, these timelines point toward the possible initiation of mankind’s 7th day, the 1,000-year Millennial Kingdom of Christ.
“Come and let us return unto the LORD: for He hath torn, and He will heal us; He
hath smitten, and He will bind us up.After two days will He revive us: in the third day He will raise us up, and we shall
live in His sight.” Hosea 6: 1,2
Hosea 6 and the Prophetic Timeline
Here in the Book of Hosea, we read of God setting aside the children of Abraham for a period of 2 days because of their continued disobedience and hostility to His Word. Afterward, in the 3rd day, He would raise them up, and they would live in His sight (Hosea 6:1,2).
These days appear to represent “God to man days,” whereby “a day to the Lord is as 1,000 years to man” (Psalm 90:4).
This is regarded by many students of Scripture as a reference to God setting Israel aside for 2,000 years. During this period, the predominantly Gentile Church became His representative to the world, proclaiming God’s Gospel of Grace during another time of Jewish discipline.
This period of discipline followed their rejection and killing of their Messiah, Jesus Christ.
This 2,000-year period would be followed by another period of 1,000 years. During this time, the children of Israel would repent and again “live in His sight,” an apparent reference to the 1,000-year Millennial Reign of Christ over the Earth.
The exact year of the Crucifixion is often disputed, with proposed dates ranging from 29 A.D. to 33 A.D. However, when one applies God’s “rules for time” in Scripture, we may find a good indicator of the year in which the Crucifixion likely occurred.
30 A.D. – The Likely Year of the Crucifixion
While time is commonly reckoned from the past toward the future, it is difficult to find an exact historical date before the Crucifixion upon which to base a precise time frame afterward.
There is, however, a much more definite historical date in the future. There are few, if any, disputes concerning 70 A.D. as the year that Titus marched his Roman army into Jerusalem, destroying both the city and its Temple.
We know that “40” represents the number for “suspended judgment” in God’s Word. It was the period of time in which the children of Israel wandered in the Wilderness before entering the Promised Land. By subtracting 40 years from 70 A.D., we arrive at 30 A.D. as a possible year of the Crucifixion.
This conjecture that 30 A.D. may have been the year of the Crucifixion is also supported by Talmudic historical writings of the period. These records report that, in and after 30 A.D., the doors of the Temple would no longer stay shut at night. The Temple’s Menorah candles would not stay lit, nor would the sacrificial scapegoat’s collar miraculously change from red to white again.
These are presented as signs that, by rejecting and killing Jesus their Messiah, the Jewish people’s Temple Worship was no longer valid before God. They were also no longer living under God’s protective favor.
Hosea’s 2,000 Years and the Year 2030 A.D.
Therefore, when we add the 2,000 years from Hosea’s prophecy of Israel being set aside for “2 days” to the year 30 A.D. (Hosea 6:2), we arrive at the year 2030 A.D. This provides yet another prophetic timeline pointing to a possible time when the Jewish people would repent and once again “live in His sight.”
With this additional 4th attestation concerning the significance of the year 2030 A.D., we see Scripture going beyond the requirement for truth to be established by 2 or 3 witnesses. This fourth timeline also relates to the possible completion of man’s 6,000 years of self-governance.
In providing a 4th attestation to the possible significance of 2030 A.D. in the 6th Chapter of Hosea, God may have been “placing a cherry” on top of His prophetic cake!
