The Significance of the Year 2030 in Scripture
The question now arises as to how much validity or credibility should be placed on the year 2030. Scripture seems to indicate that this year may have significance as a possible time frame for the initiation of God’s Millennial Kingdom.
We must remember that we are dealing with time frames rather than exact dates or years. While God’s calendar is exact, there are no guarantees that man’s calendars can make the same claim. This is evidenced by the fact that the merging of the B.C. and A.D. calendars likely left out the existence of a “0” year.
Establishing Biblical Truth Through 2 or 3 Witnesses
We can, however, be sure that God operates according to His own principles. One of these is that all truths should be verified in the mouths of “2 or 3 witnesses” (Deut. 17:6, Matt. 18:16, II Cor. 13:1).
Therefore, to establish the importance of the time frame occurring around the year 2030, we need to find another attestation of this conjecture concerning the start of man’s 7th day of rest within the pages of God’s Word.
Ezekiel’s Prophetic Timeline for Israel and Judah
In the 4th Chapter of the Book of Ezekiel, we are told that God had ordained a “time out” program for both kingdoms. This discipline was imposed because of their continued disobedience to His Word.
These time outs from receiving the blessings and fellowship of God as a nation were to last for a period of 390 years for the Northern Kingdom, and 40 years for the Southern Kingdom.
Ezekiel was told by God to lay on his left side for a period of 390 days. Each day represented 1 year of discipline for the Northern Kingdom of Israel.
Ezekiel was then told to roll over and lay on his right side for 40 days to establish the 40 years of discipline that the Southern Kingdom of Judah would endure.
Leviticus 26 and the Multiplication of Israel’s Discipline
In the 26th Chapter of Leviticus, God spells out how these periods of discipline or “time outs” would unfold.
If the Hebrew people would not turn back to God at the end of their disciplinary period, God would multiply the time of discipline by a factor of 7 (Lev. 26:18).
If after this period of compounded discipline, the children of Abraham would still be resistant to God and His commandments, then God would multiply their period of discipline by another factor of 7 (Lev. 26:21).
If God’s people still would not repent, they would face an additional multiplication by a factor of 7 (Lev. 26:24). If they continued to remain hostile to God and His ways, their discipline would again be multiplied by 7 (Lev. 26:28).
The Northern Kingdom of Israel and the Year 2030
In the case of the Northern Kingdom of Israel, God initiated their time of discipline in the year 701 B.C. This occurred when the Assyrian King Sennacherib and his army invaded Jerusalem and carried away the people of the Northern tribes of Israel to Assyria.
After their period of discipline of 390 years, the Northern Kingdom remained hostile to God and His ways. Their period of discipline therefore became multiplied by a factor of 7. When we calculate 7 x 390, we arrive at a new period of discipline totaling 2,730 years.
Amazingly, when we move forward 2,730 years from 701 B.C., we arrive at the year 2030 A.D. This would mark the year in which Israel would once again be eligible to repent and live under God’s Blessings as a nation!
The Southern Kingdom of Judah and Its 40 Years of Discipline
In the case of the Southern Kingdom of Judah, God initiated their 40 years of discipline in the year 70 A.D. This was when the Roman General Titus destroyed Jerusalem and its Temple, removing the Jewish people from the land.
After their 40 years of discipline had elapsed in 110 A.D., the Jewish people remained hostile to God and did not repent of their sin of murdering their Messiah Jesus. God therefore multiplied their discipline by a factor of seven. The calculation of 7 x 40 equals 280 years, bringing us to the year 350 A.D.
Judah’s Prophetic Timeline to 2030 A.D.
In the year 350 A.D., the Jewish people still remained unreceptive to the message of the Gospel. Once again, God multiplied their period of discipline by an additional factor of seven: 7 x 7 x 40 = 1,960 years.
When we add 1960 years onto 70 A.D., we once again arrive at the year 2030 A.D. as the year of the Southern Kingdom’s eligibility to repent and return to God !
Three Prophetic Timelines Pointing to 2030 A.D.
We now have 3 prophetic timelines pointing to the year 2030 A.D. as potentially having great significance. Together, they provide a possible time frame for the initiation of God’s Millennial Kingdom.
Should the Hebrew people not recognize Jesus as their Messiah around the year 2030, their periods of discipline could not reasonably support another multiplication by a factor of 7. Such a multiplication would move the initiation of the Millennial Kingdom approximately 14,000 years into the future for both the Northern and Southern Kingdoms.
Jesus appeared at His First Coming after approximately 4,000 years of human history. Therefore, His promise to “come quickly” (Rev. 22:12,20) would be difficult to reconcile with a return more than 14,000 years into the future!
Man’s 6,000 Years of Work and Self-Rule on Earth
We now have 3 prophetic timelines pointing to the year 2030 as a possible time frame for the completion of man’s 6,000 years of work and self-rule on Earth. This would also fulfill the Biblical principle that God establishes truth in the mouths of 2 or 3 witnesses.
A Fourth Prophetic Timeline in the Book of Hosea
Sometimes, when God wants to emphasize the importance of a matter, He goes beyond the minimum requirement of “baking His cake” and puts a cherry on top.
Such is the case here. When we turn to the Book of Hosea, we find an additional 4th prophetic timeline pointing to the year 2030 A.D. as potentially having great significance. It may help establish the time frame for the completion of man’s 6,000 years of work prior to the initiation of the 1,000-year Millennial Kingdom of Christ.
