The question now arises as to how much validity or credibility should one place on the fact that Scripture seems to place some importance on the year 2030 as the likely time frame for the initiation of God’s Millennial Kingdom. We must remember that we are dealing with time frames as opposed to exacting dates or years, for while God’s calendar is exact, there are no guarantees that man’s calendars can make the same claim, as is evidenced by the fact that the merging of the B.C. and A.D. calendars likely left out the existence of a “0” year.
We can however be sure of the fact that God operates on His own principles, one of which is that all truths should be verified in the mouths of “2 or 3 witnesses” (Deut. 17:6, Matt. 18:16, II Cor. 13:1). Therefore, to establish the importance of the time frame occurring around the year 2030, we need to find another attestation of this conjecture concerning the start of man’s 7th day of rest within the pages of God’s Word.
In the 4th Chapter of the Book of Ezekiel, we are told that God had ordained a “time out” program for both the Northern Kingdom of Israel and the Southern Kingdom of Judah for their continued disobedience to His Word. These time outs from receiving the blessings and fellowship of God as a nation were to last for a period of 390 years for the Northern Kingdom, and 40 years for the Southern Kingdom. Ezekiel was told by God to lay on his left side for a period of 390 days, with each day representing 1 year, to signify the length of time that the Northern Kingdom of Israel would be under God’s “time out” discipline. Ezekiel was then told to roll over and lay on his right side for 40 days to establish the 40 years of discipline that the Southern Kingdom of Judah would endure.
In the 26th Chapter of Leviticus, God spells out how these periods of discipline or “time outs” would unfold. If the Hebrew people would not turn back around to God at the end of their disciplinary period, then God would multiply the time of discipline by a factor of 7 (Lev. 26:18). If after this period of compounded discipline, the children of Abraham would still be resistant to God and His commandments, then God would multiply their period of discipline by another factor of 7 (Lev. 26:21). If God’s people would still not repent of their ways, then they would face an additional compounding multiplication by a factor of 7 (Lev. 26:24), and yet again another multiplication by 7 if they should still remain hostile to God and His ways (Lev. 26: 28).
In the case of the Northern Kingdom of Israel, God initiated their time of discipline in the year 701 B.C. when the Assyrian King Sennacherib and his army invaded Jerusalem and carried away the people of the Northern tribes of Israel back to Assyria. After their period of discipline of 390 years, the Northern Kingdom remained hostile to God and His ways, so their period of discipline now became multiplied by a factor of 7, When we do this calculation of 7 x 390, we arrive at the new period of their discipline to be 2,730 years. Amazingly, when we move forward 2,730 years from 701 B.C., we come to the year 2030 A.D. as the year in which Israel will be eligible to once again repent and live under God’s Blessings as a nation !
In the case of the Southern Kingdom of Judah, God initiated their discipline of 40 years in the year 70 A.D., when the Roman General Titus destroyed the city of Jerusalem and its Temple, removing the Jewish people from the land. After their 40 years of discipline had elapsed in 110 A.D., the Jewish people remained hostile to God and did not repent of their sin of murdering their Messiah Jesus, so God multiplied their discipline by a factor of seven: 7 x 40 = 280, bringing us to the year 350 A.D.
In the year 350 A.D. the Jewish people still remained unreceptive to the message of the Gospel, so once again God multiplied their period of discipline by an additional factor of seven: 7 x 7 x 40 = 1960 years. When we add 1960 years onto 70 A.D., we once again arrive at the year 2030 A.D. as the year of the Southern Kingdom’s eligibility to repent and return to God !
Now we have 3 prophetic timelines pointing to the year 2030 A.D. as having great significance in providing a time frame for the initiation of God’s Millennial Kingdom. Should the Hebrew people not recognize Jesus as their Messiah around the year 2030, their periods of discipline could not support being multiplied by another factor of 7, as this would move the initiation of the Millennial Kingdom out approximately 14,000 years for both the Northern and Southern Kingdoms. Given the fact that if Jesus had only taken 4,000 years to appear at His First Coming, His promise to come quickly (Rev. 22:12,20) could not be plausible if His return was over 14,000 years in the future!
Now we have 3 prophetic timelines pointing to the time frame of the year 2030 as the time of the completion of man’s 6,000 years of work and self-rule on Earth, thus fulfilling the fact that God establishes truth in the mouths of 2 or 3 witnesses.
Sometimes when God wants to emphasize the importance of a matter, He goes beyond the minimum requirements of “baking His cake” and puts a cherry on top of it. Such is the case here, for when we turn to the Book of Hosea, we find yet an additional 4th prophetic timeline pointing to the year 2030 A.D. as potentially having great significance concerning the time frame of the completion of man’s 6,000 years of work prior to the initiation of the 1,000 year Millennial Kingdom of Christ.
