After establishing the fact of the potential significance of the year 2030 A.D. concerning the initiation of mankind’s 7th day, the 1,000 year Millennial Kingdom of Christ through three separate prophetic timelines: 1) Jesus as the Last Adam, 2) Discipline of Northern Kingdom of Israel in Ezekiel Chapter 4, and 3) Discipline of the Southern Kingdom of Judah in Ezekiel Chapter 4, it is of great interest to find yet another prophetic timeline pointing to the year 2030 A.D. in the Book of Hosea:
“Come and let us return unto the LORD: for He hath torn, and He will heal us; He
hath smitten, and He will bind us up.
After two days will He revive us: in the third day He will raise us up, and we shall
live in His sight.” Hosea 6: 1,2
Here in the Book of Hosea, we read of God setting aside the children of Abraham for a period of 2 days due to their continued disobedience and hostility to His Word, after which in the 3rd day He would raise them up, and they would live in His sight (Hosea 6:1,2). These days are obvious indications of “God to man days” whereby “a day to the Lord is as 1,000 years to man” (Psalm 90:4).
This is regarded by most students of Scripture as a reference to God’s setting Israel aside for 2,000 years while the predominantly Gentile Church became His representative to the world to proclaim God’s Gospel of Grace during yet another time of Jewish discipline. This time, for their killing of their Messiah, Jesus Christ. This 2,000-year period would be followed by a period of 1,000 years wherein the children of Israel would repent and again, “live in His sight”, an obvious reference to the 1,000-year Millennial Reign of Christ over the Earth.
While the exact year of the Crucifixion is often disputed, with a range of anywhere between 29 A.D. and 33 years A.D., when one applies God’s “rules for time” in Scripture, it should be a pretty good indicator of exactly what year the Crucifixion likely occurred.
30 A.D. – The Likely Year of the Crucifixion
While time is commonly reckoned from the past up to the future, it is hard to find an exact historical date before the Crucifixion from which to base an exact time frame after. There is however an exacting date in the future, for there are few if any historical disputes concerning 70 A.D. as being the year that Titus marched his Roman army into Jerusalem, destroying both the city and its Temple. In that we know that “40” represents the number for “suspended judgment” in God’s Word, (it is the period of time in which the children of Israel wandered in the Wilderness before entering the Promised Land), it is safe to assume that by subtracting 40 years from 70 A.D., that 30 A.D. could well be the likely year of the Crucifixion.
This conjecture that the year 30 A.D. as being the likely year of the Crucifixion is also verified by the Talmudic historical writings of the period, for here we find the fact that in the official Temple records, in and after 30 A.D., the doors of the Temple would no longer stay shut at night, the Temple’s Menorah candles would not stay lit in the Temple, nor would the color of the sacrificial scapegoat’s collar ever miraculously change from red to white again. These are obvious signs that by rejecting and killing Jesus their Messiah, that the Jewish People’s Temple Worship was no longer valid before God, and that they were no longer living under God’s protective favor.
Therefore, when we add the 2,000 years from Hosea’s prophecy of Israel being set aside for “2 days” onto the year 30 A.D. (Hosea 6:2), we find yet another prophetic timeline pointing to the year 2030 A.D. as being the likely time that the Jewish people would repent and once again “live in His sight.”
With this additional 4th attestation as to the significance of the time frame of the year 2030 A.D., and the completion of man’s 6,000 years of self-governance, we see Scripture going well beyond the need for truth to be established by 2 or 3 witnesses. In providing a 4th attestation to the significance of 2030 A.D. here in the 6th Chapter of the Book of Hosea, God was likely “placing a cherry” for us on the top of His prophetic cake!
